The combination of aesthetic finesse and durability resulted in a uniform jacket with a wrap-around construction inspired by the classic kimono. The two horizontal stripes along the waist are a tribute to the Obi belt of the traditional kimono, while the tie-down waistband gave the jacket a flexible fit.
The uniforms for spa staff needed to be even more adaptable. Along with a stylish top, the pants became the centerpiece of the uniform, with a design taken from the hakaman, a garment worn by ancient Japanese samurai.
